What is Dogman Devices?

Dogman Devices creates effect pedals, contact mics, and probably other stuff, by hand in good old honest Sydney, Australia. Formally located in Minneapolis, MN, Oxford, OH, & Charlottesville, VA.

Dogman Devices is a one-person operation.

Can I use a battery?

Only on the old powder-coated Fire Fuzz. I stopped designing with batteries in mind both for environmental concerns and design limitations created by making space for a battery. Read more about this issue here.

Where are these things manufactured?

Currently in Sydney, Australia. But some things where built in Minneapolis, MN, Oxford, OH, and Charlottesville, VA.

I hand-assembly most things, but sometimes I will have the place which manufactures the circuit boards populate them and then I hand-wire and test the pedals.

All engraving is done by hand, same with polishing. Sometimes I do the drilling, and sometimes I don’t.

All pedals are tested against a master version of circuit for consistency.

Do you do custom orders?

Sort of! Contact me about it. Depending on what you want, there might be an extra fee. But if it inspires a design for something that because part of my line, then it probably won’t. It might take a long time. I also might say no, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
 

Will you fix my pedal?

If I built it , yes. Tell me what’s wrong with it, and we will go from there. If you do end up needing to send it in, keep in mind you will need to pay shipping to me, and I will pay the return shipping - and this is to Australia. I’m happy to discuss other options as well.
 

Are your prices in Australian dollars?

All prices are in US dollars.
 

How do you make pedals?

This is something that changes a lot. In terms of the circuitry, I get out the breadboard and try to find the circuit that replicates the sound in my mind. I’m always exploring different ideas with enclosures.

What pedals are actually in production?

Sahara, Mic, Blue Rose, Blizzard, Goblin Mage, and Go Fly A Kite are actively in production. There might be special one-offs of other pedals, especially if you request one.
