Who is the Dogman?

I grew up around music, but never really found myself truly blown away by it until I got into post rock. I heard the album Yes I Am by pg.lost and the next thing I knew I was getting an electric guitar and my first effect pedal.

It still amazes me how an effect can inspire someone to create. All the pedals I’ve gathered over time have been the sort of thing that I can lose myself with, something I could play around with for hours in the blink of an eye.

The picture is from when I was living in Japan and my weird solo-band performed at an event called Noise Jamboree that my friend was hosting. I met people there who made synth modules and effect pedals, and I couldn’t continue the way I was living after I found out that an individual could make effect pedals on their own.

I’ve moved around a lot since I started this company (Minneapolis, MN, Oxford, OH, Charleslottesville, VA, Sydney, Australia, here and there USA). I was last operating out of Sydney, Australia. I’m back in the US, but have yet to re-establish a workshop.

I have also started making virtual synth modules for VCV Rack. I’d like to start building hardware synths. I’m very hands on with everything I make. I never use AI tools.
